We have a convert! After Cecilia and I photographed each other in dragon this morning (did you know CL is my photographer for Yoga Pose Tuesday?) little Ms. Poppy hopped onto the carpet and struck her very own version of dragon – seemed quite pleased with herself.

Maybe don't follow her model, except for that big smile.

Better not to do this in boots, but you do what you gotta do

This pose is a nice stretch for your hip flexors, and also has a balance element. Nice way to begin or end your day.

Boot kinda day

So let’s get to it, shall we?

1. Begin in a lunge, with your knee directly above your ankle, your back leg extended long, toes curled under

2. Deep breath in, and on an exhalation, release your back knee to the mat (or floor or rug). Leave your toes curled under, or place the top of the foot down along the mat

3. Gazing at a still point, extend your arms overhead. If you can bring your arms over head while keeping them straight, do so. If they just want to bend, keep your hands shoulder width apart.

4. Breath

5. Repeat on the other side.
